A sandstorm hit the Borg al-Arab airport in Alexandria on Saturday, resulting in a visibility of only 400 meters, according to airport authorities.
Mohamed Taman, head of the airport’s media and public relations department, told Al-Masry Al-Youm that the storm is ongoing, making it hard for flights to land.
Three flights coming from Gulf countries were diverted to Cairo International Airport until weather conditions improve, he added.
