Liverpool FC winger Mohamed Salah is preparing to face Olympique Marseille in the seventh round of the Champions League group stage on Wednesday evening.
Salah underwent medical examination at AXA training center on Tuesday morning before joining his teammates for their final training session before traveling to France.
He participated in the open training session in preparation for the match, following his return from the Africa Cup of Nations.
Slot discusses Salah’s return
Liverpool FC manager Arne Slot commented on Salah’s return to the team after his absence due to representing Egypt at Africa Cup of Nations.
Slot said in a press conference: “I’m delighted to have Salah back. In his absence, I think we performed well in terms of reducing the number of chances conceded, which allowed us to create more attacking opportunities. So it’s beneficial to have a player like him, capable of scoring goals.”
He added: “I don’t think I can bring Ian Rush on now. The number of chances we created against Burnley when Salah was on the pitch usually meant more goals.”
“I’m happy he’s back. Creating chances is great, but we’re judged on results. We have to score and not concede.”
The 33-year-old star player helped Egypt finish fourth in the continental tournament after being eliminated by Senegal in the semi-finals.
