Salafi Dawa: Callers for 28 November protests seek Egypt’s downfall

Salafi Dawa Vice-Chief Yasser Borhamy issued an edict over calls for demonstrations on 28 November saying that they are corrupts and extremists who seek spreading corruption.

“The call is corrupt and doesn’t achieve interests. It targets allowing forbidden issues, bloodshed and violence,” Borhamy said in a filmed video on Friday entitled “Why we reject taking to the streets on 28 November?”

“The callers are no more than 15 persons, which is the total number of the Salafi Front. They deploy members of Hazemoun [movement] who have a deviant ideology in faith and infidelity issues. They want to show the world that all Salafists are anti-regime,” he said, adding that the callers mainly target victims of youth affected by religious slogans to take advantage of them in a media show to smear the image of the country.

“Some groups take advantage of such calls seeking sabotage and bombings, although they know they will not affect police or military. They will just end up weakening stability in the country and harming citizens,” he added.

Borhamy called on Salafists to resist this call.
