Sahar Nasr to represent Egypt at 5 international institutions

Prime Minister Sherif Ismail issued a decision on Monday appointing International Cooperation Minister Sahar Nasr as Egypt’s representative at five international institutions.

Nasr has been selected as Egypt’s representative at the World Bank, with Investment Minister Ashraf Salman as her deputy.

Nasr has also been appointed as Egypt’s delegate to the board of governors at the Arab Bank for Development in Africa, with Planning Minister Ashraf al-Araby as her deputy.

She will also serve as a delegate at the African Development Bank, with Egypt’s central bank governor Tareq Amer as her deputy.

Nasr will represent Egypt at the Arab Fund for Social and Economic Development, with al-Araby serving as her deputy.

Finally, she has been delegated to the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. Investment minister Salman will act as her deputy.

Nasr received an international honor on February 27, when the United Nations Development Program selected her as one of its "pioneer ministers" as part of the program's celebration of the 50th anniversary of its foundation.

Commening on the honor, Nasr said the UNDP acts as a "primary strategic partner" for Egypt. She said that Egypt has achieved many remarkable things in many fields recently, paying special attention to enhancing citizens' living conditions.
