Presidential hopeful Hamdeen Sabbahi said that the electoral campaign of Field Marshal Abdel Fattah al-Sisi includes both honorable and corrupt figures who support him.
In an interview on the privately-owned al-Mayadeen TV channel on Saturday, Sabbahi wondered, "Why didn't Sisi take a stance against the support of those loyal to the former regime?"
He also called on Egyptians to "see who stands outside the notary offices at the governorates. We seek to empower the youth rather than return of the old regime."
Sabbahi, who came in third place during 2012 elections, called for canceling the protest law, describing it as a "great harm against human rights."
He also blamed the current government for the law, saying it worked on continuing it rather than repealing it.
