Russian Space Agency adviser Hussein al-Shafie dispelled rumors about losing contact with satellite EgyptSat 2, saying it is still orbiting and has not experienced any cuts in communication.
“Egypt has been in full control of the satellite in terms of management and operation since the beginning of 2015,” he said.
Russian newspaper Izvestia had said that Egypt had lost contact with the satellite that was launched on April 16 of last year from the Baikonur cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.
