A Russian plane has taken off from Cairo Airport, heading to Sanaa to evacuate Russian citizens from Yemen, according to TASS news agency, citing the Russian embassy in Yemen.
On Wednesday, the Russian embassy in Egypt said that plane sent from Moscow to evacuate Russian nationals from Yemen was still at Cairo Airport. "The plane flew from Cairo to evacuate embassy personnel and others who wish to leave the country, where military actions are underway," the embassy told TASS.
The report added that the plane will stop in Cairo on its way back for refueling, according to Cairo International Airport. "This will most likely happen later today," said the airport spokesperson.
