The Russian Embassy in Cairo has said it was ready to offer all the necessary assistance to the victims of the tourist bus crash that occurred on the Dahab-Sharm el-Sheikh road on Tuesday, according to a statement obtained by Egypt’s state news agency MENA.
According to the embassy, the accident left one Russian tourist dead and 11 other passengers wounded, including Russian, German and Chinese nationals, who were taken to Sharm el-Sheikh International Hospital.
The embassy stated that insurance companies will cover the treatment costs and send the body of the deceased tourist back to his country.
Egypt has the world’s highest traffic accidents rate, according to the World Health Organization, with around 13,000 people killed in road accidents every year.
