A rocket struck Taba, Egypt early on Friday morning, injuring six people and damaging parts of the Taba ambulance building and the administrative building of Taba Central Hospital, sources told the Al-Nahar Al-Khebeeriya TV channel
The sources indicated that the incident is under serious investigation to reveal the circumstances of what happened.
Israel claimed that the rocket was aimed at Eilat but “accidentally” fell on Taba.
The Al-Nahar Al-Khebeeriya channel quoted the senior official as saying that once the source of the rocket is identified, all options are available to deal with it, adding that Egypt reserves the right to respond at the appropriate time.
A similar incident occurred earlier on Sunday evening, when a military spokesperson for the Egyptian army confirmed in a statement that some members of an Egyptian border control tower were accidentally injured by shrapnel from an Israeli tank.
“During the ongoing clashes in the Gaza Strip, on Sunday, October 22, one of the Egyptian border watchtowers was accidentally hit by fragments of a shell from an Israeli tank,” he explained.
He added that this resulted in minor injuries to some border control personnel.
The Israeli army said in a statement on Sunday evening that it had accidentally bombed an Egyptian post near the border at the Kerem Shalom crossing.
