Residents of Sharqiya Governorate stoned two robbers to death recently, continuing a trend of vigilante law enforcement in the governorate.
According to the preliminary investigation, the two men attempted to carjack a local resident on the Belbeis-Abou Hamada road, near the village of Gondiya. When the driver called for help, local residents responded and attacked the would-be robbers.
The two bodies were taken to Belbeis hospital.
The incident is the sixth such one in the past 18 months during which Sharqiya residents have killed suspected criminals.
