Roadside bomb kills two, medic shot dead in N. Sinai attack

Two security personnel and a medic were killed in a roadside bomb explosion in North Sinai, according to security and medical sources.

The bomb was detonated by terrorists as troops from the governorate's security forces were passing along the road to the south of Sheikh Zuwayed City.

After the explosion, an ambulance arrived at the scene, at which point gunmen opened fire, killing a medic named Reda al-Shahhat Ibrahim.

The victims were transferred to hospital, along with one other member of the security forces who was injured in the blast.

Many drivers and medics responded to the incident with anger, gathering outside the Arish Public Hospital and demanding that the killers be captured.

Tight security measures were imposed across the province after the accident, including road-blocks and raids on suspected hid-outs.
