Ahmed abdel Aal, head of the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA), said unsettled weather is expected in Egypt, starting on Wednesday, with rain in most areas, including Cairo.
The rain could be heavy and accompanied by thunder on Thursday and Friday in the Red Sea mountains, Sinai and Upper Egypt, resulting in flooding.
The EMA urged governors to take precautions to prevent and control flooding, preparing the appropriate responses to minimize the impact on citizens.
In a statement on Tuesday, Abdel Aal said temperatures will be normal from Wednesday to Saturday, but there will be fog in the mornings.
The predicted temperature ranges for the coming few days are as follows:
North Sinai: 25-27 degrees centigrade;
Cairo and Lower Egypt: 27-28 degrees;
North of Upper Egypt: 28-29 degrees;
South of Upper Egypt: 30-33 degrees;
South Sinai: 30-31 degrees.
