Rights group: 91 attacks against medical establishments since 2014

The Egyptian Center for Economic and Social Rights (ECESR) said that attacks resulting from poor security are the main reason behind doctors strikes staged since 2011.

In a report on Saturday, the center said there were 91 attacks on medical establishments between 2014 and 2015, resulting in the deaths of six people and the injury of 80 others.

The report added that doctors and nurses were most affected by the attacks, which occurred in 22 governorates. Altogether, 53 doctors and nurses were assaulted.

The report comes amid a strike organized by the Doctors' Syndicate to protest against attacks by policemen.
