Scores of youths claiming to be members of revolutionary coalitions on Saturday stormed a rally organized by Ali al-Meselhy, former minister of social solidarity and the former ruling party's policies secretariat, in the city of Abu Kebir in Sharqiya Governorate.
They called for arresting him for allegedly rigging the 2005 and 2010 parliamentary elections, as was proven in court, and for supporting former President Hosni Mubarak's efforts to bequeath power to his son, Gamal.
Meselhy denied the allegations and asserted that he would run in the next parliamentary elections. “I was the first to apply social justice while I was minister,” he said.
