Revolutionary youth groups call for ‘final warning’ demo

Several revolutionary youth groups are planning a march to the headquarters of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces on 5 July to present a variety demands for the continuation of the revolution. They said the march constitutes a "final warning".

Among their demands are the speeding up of the trial of ousted President Hosni Mubarak, his ministers, sons, and all those accused of killing demonstrators during the revolution.

They also want the government to pay for the treatment of victims injured during the revolution, the release all political prisoners, and a ban on members of the former ruling party engaging in politics for a period of five years.

The youth groups also said they would go ahead with the demonstration planned for 8 July to demand that the constitution be written before parliamentary elections.

Meanwhile, the Jama’a al-Islamiya and Islamic Jihad said they would not take part in the march, which they claim violates popular will as reflected in the recent referendum on constitutional amendments.
