The Red Sea Airlines will start operating flights from Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport to the Red Sea resort city of Sharm el-Sheikh on a Boeing 737 twice a week, starting June 16.
The Red Sea Airlines will increase flights from Moscow to five flights in July, according to the company’s one-year program, ending in June 2024.
It is also expected to organize flights to Sharm el-Sheikh and Hurghada from other Russian cities.
Thus, the declared volume of transportation from Moscow to Egyptian resorts in the summer season will increase significantly.
Since May, AZUR air has started flights to Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh at a rate of six times a week.
Aeroflot accounts for the largest volume of flights to the Red Sea. The airline carries the Biblio-Globus tourists to Sharm el-Sheikh and Hurghada on a daily basis.
The Russian airlines continues to operate its flights from Moscow on two Egyptian routes, from two airports in Moscow; Domodedovo and Zhukovsky Red Wings operates Aeroflot’s flights.
The Red Sea Airlines is a relatively new airline, established in 2021 to operate flights to resorts in Egypt, and there are many Boeing 737-800 aircraft with a capacity of 189 seats in its fleet.
Four million tourists in 2022
Resorts and hotels in the Red Sea governorate received more than four million tourists of different nationalities in 2022.
German tourists came at the forefront of the nationalities that arrived in the Red Sea governorate with a total of 1.158 million tourists.
Russian tourists came in second place with a total of 472,000 tourists, and the Czech Republic came in third place with 392,000 tourists, and Poland came in fourth place with 378,000 tourists.
