The Border Crossings Authority at the Gaza Strip said the Egyptian authorities closed the Rafah landport Friday evening after it had been opened on an exceptional basis in both directions for one week.
Authority Director Maher Abu Sabha said 3,819 people crossed over from Gaza and 1,012 crossed back.
Sabha said there are 12,000 more people registered at the Interior Ministry in Gaza who are still waiting to cross, calling for the port to open permanently in both directions.
