The Rafah land crossing in North Sinai on Sunday received 97 Palestinians from the Gaza Strip, both wounded and their companions, for treatment in Egyptian hospitals.
A medical source in North Sinai said that 34 injured and sick people from Gaza Strip hospitals were received for treatment in hospitals in North Sinai Governorate and other Egyptian governorates, in addition to 63 of their companions.
The source added that the Palestinians in need were distributed as follows: 18 cases to the al-Arish General Hospital, 10 cases in Sheikh Zuweid Central Hospital, one case in Bir al-Abd Specialized Hospital, and five cases in Zagazig University Hospital in Sharqia Governorate.
According to the source, the reported injuries and illnesses varied between fractures, wounds, burns, amputated limbs, eye injuries, heart, liver, kidney, blood diseases, and cancerous tumors.
North Sinai Governor Khaled Megawer welcomed the Palestinians upon their arrival at al-Arish General Hospital.
This marks the second batch after the truce came into effect, while the first batch arrived on Saturday and includes 37 Palestinian patients who were admitted to Sheikh Zuweid Central Hospital and al-Arish General Hospital, in addition to 38 of their companions.
