Qatari chief of intelligence Ahmed Nasser bin Jassim al-Thani arrived in Cairo on Saturday afternoon, where he will meet with officials over several days, the state-run news agency MENA reported.
The Qatari spy chief will meet a number of security officials, including Defense Minister Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, and head of the intelligence services.
It is not yet certain whether he will meet Egyptian President Mohamed Morsy or not.
The Qatari official is expected to discuss recent developments in the region and ways to increase cooperation between Egypt and Qatar, especially on security and intelligence.
