Mohamed al-Naggar, representing the Public Funds Prosecution, headed on Tuesday to Tora Prison to get written approval from Alaa Mubarak to pay LE20 million as the value of gifts that the Mubarak received from Al-Ahram newspaper in the ‘Ahram gifts’ case.
The Public Funds Prosecution had a few days ago agreed that former President Hosni Mubarak return LE20 million that he received in gifts from the newspaper, to be deducted from the frozen funds of his son Alaa.
Several figures involved in the case including former Chief of Presidential Staff Zakariya Azmy and former Interior Minister Habib al-Adly paid for the value of gifts they got.

The state is collecting millions of pounds from Mubarak-era officials who have struck restitution deals to avoid prosecution.
