Protesters march to American Embassy objecting to bin Laden’s murder

Following Friday prayers, hundreds of worshippers staged a march objecting to the killing of Osama bin Laden in Pakistan by US special forces.

The march started at Nour Mosque in Abbasseya and moved toward the American Embassy in downtown Cairo.

Sheikh Hafez Salama, a popular veteran of the October War of 1973, announced he would perform the Salat al-Gha'eb (prayer for the absent) for bin Laden’s soul at the mosque after Friday prayers.
Participants said that the elderly Salama took the same route in his car as he is not able to walk very far at his age.

Protesters chanted against the killing of "the hero martyr Osama bin Laden." They condemned the US military operation that killed the Al-Qaeda leader in his compound near a Pakistani military barracks outside Islamabad.
