Prosecutor General Nabil Sadek has ordered the temporary freezing of Salah Diab's funds, founder of Al-Masry Al-Youm, as well as the funds of his partners in other businesses, including his wife.
The Cairo Criminal Court will review the prosecutor general’s decision on November 10.
The decision is based on a complaint that the Public Funds Prosecution received in 2011 and referred to an expert committee to investigate, but the committee yet to submit its investigative report.
