Aswan prosecution ordered release of an official of the governorate's housing department on LE 30,000 bail pending investigations. He, along others, were arrested while taking a bribe from a contractor.
The Administrative Control Authority in Aswan had earlier received permission from prosecution to monitor the suspects including the department's general director, the project engineer and the contractor in charge of social housing. They were arrested while taking a bribe in return for advantages at a housing project carried out by the contractor.
The suspects appeared in a video by the authority while getting the bribe. They were referred to prosecution.
