Professor: Decline of cinema industry behind emergence of terrorism

Mohamed Shouman, Dean of the Faculty of Information at British University in Egypt, has attributed the emergence of terrorism in Egypt to the deterioation of cinema and drama.
 
Cinema and drama are two means of communication and rapprochement between different peoples and countries of the world, Shouman mentioned, adding that there is a correlation between the emergence of terrorism in Egypt and the decline of the film industry.
 
During a conference to promote cinema at the British University on Tuesday, Shouman stressed that creative art is one of the most important means to instill the values ​​of tolerance and non-discrimination between human beings, especially with regard to gender or religion.
 
Egyptians have to restore their role in the region through the promotion of the film industry, he added.
 
Shouman announced the establishment of the Cinema Department at the Faculty of Information of the BUE, in collaboration with London South Bank University to contribute to the development of the Egyptian cinema.
