The National Alliance to Support Legitimacy, the umbrella organization backing deposed President Mohamed Morsy, has invited supporters across Egypt to join prayers against "the oppressors" on Sunday.
The call comes as Morsy backers continue demonstrations in squares nationwide to demand the president's reinstatement after the army deposed him in early July in response to massive protests against his rule.
"The message of today is important for all the conspirators and traitors who profaned the sanctities and stained their hands with the blood of the Egyptians, and handed over Egypt and its revolution and security to their opponents," Magdy Rany said.
The Anti-Coup Alliance has vowed to continue protests and protect the gains of the 25 January revolution.
In a statement read during a news conference at Rabea al-Adaweya Square, the organization said demonstrations staged on Friday had emphasized that the Egyptian people are “insistent on proceeding on the path of the 25 January revolution."
The group denounced the use of tear gas and bird shots against “peaceful protesters” at the Egyptian Media Production City on Friday, where pro-Morsy supporters had attempted to establish a new sit-in and clashed with police forces.
“Crimes, murders and violence adopted by the proponents of the coup will not discourage us from the peacefulness of our revolution," the statement claimed, vowing to "meet the bullets of the perpetrators of the coup with bare chests."
