Pro-Morsy front calls for boycott of media

Members of the sit-in held by supporters of ousted President Mohamed Morsy at Renaissance Square in Giza and leaders of a pro-Morsy movement called “Media Professors against the coup” have called for boycotting both state-run and privately-owned media, saying that they have become “means of propaganda for the military coup.”

Sulaiman Saleh, a professor of media at Cairo University, said that state and private media are “promoting the coup by publishing lies and misinformation.”

He explained that Egyptian media is practicing all forms of psychological warfare on the people by deliberately distorting the truth about the 25 January revolution.
