“Have I seen you somewhere before?” Egyptian Prime Minister Ahmed Nazif asked Ghanaian footballer Abedi Pele, who is currently accompanying the official delegation of Ghanaian Vice President John Mahama on a state visit to Cairo.
“My son plays with Egypt's Zamalek football team,” Pele replied, introducing himself.
During the visit, Nazif and Mahama reportedly discussed ways of consolidating economic relations between the two countries.
According to cabinet spokesman Magdy Radi, Ghana intends to increase its investment in Egypt.
“The bilateral trade balance does not currently exceed US$80 million,” Radi said.
