Prime Minister Ibrahim Mehleb issued a decision Monday, sealing off another area in the Northern Sinai city of Rafah, expanding the buffer zone on the border with the Gaza Strip.
Residents of the area will be evacuated and compensated with alternative housing. According to the resolution, the possessions of those residents who refuse to leave the buffer zone will be confiscated.
The ezpanded buffer zone includes Abu Shnaq and al-Resum areas, Goaz Abu Raad, the southern part of al-Madfouna area, and north-east Atla al-Tayra.
