Presidential initiative of human development program targets children under 6 years of age

The human development presidential initiative “A New Beginning for Building Human being” launched Saturday the “Golden Beginning for Family and Child” program, targeting children from birth to six years old.

The initiative involves various state bodies and ministries, including the ministries of health, social solidarity, education, youth and sports, and culture.

Early childhood development is considered one of the most critical pillars of human development. This stage, from birth to 6 years old, is often referred to as the “golden stage” of development, the Health Ministry said in a statement.

To achieve this objective, all Egyptian state efforts and relevant ministries are united to ensure effective early childhood development. The Ministry of Health and Population focuses on providing high-quality healthcare, from prenatal care through to the end of early childhood, ensuring proper nutrition that supports healthy growth and development. This aims to achieve the best health outcomes, such as reducing rates of anemia, stunting, malnutrition, and lowering infant, neonatal, and under-five mortality rates, it added.

The Ministry of Social Solidarity plays a role in economically empowering families, ensuring comprehensive coverage of nurseries, and protecting children’s rights within an aware family environment, free from violence. The Ministry of Education is tasked with increasing preschool enrollment rates, enhancing children’s readiness for primary education, setting educational frameworks, and training teachers to handle this critical age group, the statement read.

The Ministry of Culture is involved in raising parental awareness and cultural empowerment through educational programs and relevant awareness seminars. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Youth and Sports is developing a program for physical upbringing to build a physically and mentally healthy generation, it added.

All ministries are also collaborating to provide environments and incubators in various fields for talented children, aiming to build a generation of scientists, athletes, intellectuals, and artists, contributing to the achievement of sustainable development goals and Egypt Vision 2030, the Health Ministry said.
