Presidential Adviser for Health Affairs Mohamed Awad al-Tag al-Din said on Saturday the respiratory syncytial virus is one of the respiratory viruses as they infect the respiratory system and lead to a very similar set of symptoms and complications.
In a phone interview with Al Hadath Al Youm TV channel, Tag al-Din noted the respiratory syncytial virus is not new and that it existed a long time ago, pointing out that it spreads between autumn and winter.
The respiratory syncytial virus is similar to the coronavirus and many viruses, he underlined, adding the elderly are less affected than the young, a matter which is now witnessed by the Egyptian society.
