President Sisi, UAE president welcome Trump’s initiative for stopping Gaza war

CAIRO, Sept 29 (MENA) – President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan voiced their welcome and support for the initiative proposed by US President Donald Trump to halt the war in the Gaza Strip.

During President Sisi’s reception of the UAE’s president Monday, at the Ittihadiya Presidential Palace, the two sides emphasized the importance of supporting this peaceful initiative as a step toward paving the way for a path to achieving lasting and comprehensive peace in the region.

The UAE president’s visit is part of a brotherly trip of Sheikh Mohamed as part of continued consultations and close coordination between the leaderships of the two sisterly nations.

Presidential Spokesperson Mohamed al-Shennawy said, the meeting included an expanded session attended by both countries’ official delegations, followed by a closed one-on-one meeting between the two leaders, followed by a working luncheon banquet held in honor of the esteemed guest and his entourage.

President Sisi opened the meeting by affirming the depth and strength of the relations between Egypt and the UAE, praising the notable progress in cooperation across various fields, especially in trade and investment.

Sisi also voiced Egypt’s keenness on removing any obstacles facing Emirati investments, appreciating the remarkable growth in economic relations between the two sides.

For his part, Sheikh Mohamed praised the significant development of the investment climate in Egypt, reflecting efforts made to enhance the business environment and attract investments.

Discussions also covered developments in the regional situation, especially in the Gaza Strip, added the spokesman. (MENA)
