The Egyptian Official Gazette published, in its issue #52 (A) on December 30, 2024, President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi’s ratification of Decree #600 of 2024 to reconstitute the Board of Trustees of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) Authority for a period of three years.
The decree stipulates that the Board of Trustees of the GEM shall be reconstituted for a period of three years, with membership made up of:
- Foreigners:
- Taro Aso
- Yuji Kurihara
- Prince Sultan bin Salman
- Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan
- Secretary-General of the World Tourism Organization
- Egyptians:
- Minister of Tourism and Antiquities
- Minister of Culture
- Minister of Finance
- Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina
- Zahi Hawass
- Farouk Hosni
- Hesham Okasha
- Mohamed Lotfy Mansour
- Media figure Sherif Amer
- Ghada Fathy Wali
- Khaled Ahmed al-Enany
