Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi assured the people of Palestine that his nation, “Will provide them with every measure that supports them in their battle for survival and destiny.”
Sisi’s remarks came during the 41st cultural symposium held by the Armed Forces at al-Manara International Conference Center in New Cairo, marking Martyrs’ and Veterans’ Day.
The President indicated that Egypt continues to press on towards presenting its vision for lasting peace and security in the region, especially given its role as a major support of the Palestinian cause.
“Egypt has made clear, from the outset, its firm and unwavering position that there is no solution to this issue except through working to achieve justice, establish a Palestinian state, and reject the displacement of the Palestinian people from their land under any pretext,” Sis stressed.
He continued, “This stance would not have been achieved without the awareness of the Egyptian people and their alignment with the political leadership, clearly expressing their sincerity and love for the homeland.”
“It is fortunate that our celebration of Martyrs’ Day this year coincides with the tenth of Ramadan, when Egypt fought the most honorable battle and men made tremendous deeds that lifted us to the horizons of dignity and pride, with the unity of the people and the strength of the army, determined to achieve victory,” he stated.
He added, “Our righteous martyrs not only gave their lives, but also gave Egypt its future. They paved the way for stability and security, on which we continue today the path of construction and development. Thanks to their sacrifices, Egypt has been able to face challenges and move forward in implementing national projects, which have become a testament to the resilience of this nation and the determination of its people,” Sisi said.
“We see the results of these sacrifices clearly across Egypt, with new cities being built and projects shaping the strength of the new republic. None of this would have been possible without the blood shed to keep this nation safe and stable, capable of progress and development.”
The President said “I extend my due tribute to the Egyptian people and their armed forces for the efforts made over the past years, during which we sought to build the capabilities of this nation—militarily, politically, and economically—which have helped us overcome all challenges and qualified us to confront all threats.”
He continued, “What has been achieved in Egypt, despite all the circumstances, has enabled us to stand on firm ground, defending our present and securing the future of generations.”
“I promise you before God that we will continue to work to achieve the prosperity, progress, and stability you aspire to for our beloved Egypt,” the President said.
