The President of the Central African Republic Catherine Samba Panza arrived to Cairo airport on Thursday morning on an official visit, according to airport sources.
During her visit to Cairo, Panza will meet with President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, Prime Minister Ibrahim Mehleb and Al-Azhar Grand Sheikh Ahmed al-Tayyeb.
After she meets Sisi at the presidential headquarters, Panza is expected to discuss joint cooperation between the two countries with Mehleb and sign a number of memorandums of understanding with the ministerial delegation accompanying Panza.
They will also discuss a collaborative project to link the Congo River with the Nile River, working to together to fight Ebola and combating terrorist groups that threaten the peace and security of African states, said the sources.
Panza and Tayyeb will discuss cooperation between Al-Azhar and Central Africa, as well as increasing the number of scholarships offered to students of Central Africa to study at Al-Azhar.
