Egyptian power-lifter Hany Abdelhady on Sunday won the bronze medal for Men’s 88kg in Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
The Egyptian champion succeeded in lifting a weight of 214 kg in the first attempt yet failed to lift a weight of 217 kg in the second attempt and also failed to lift a weight of 221 kg in the last attempts, to take third place and win the bronze medal.
Abdelhady’s medal brings the amount of medals Egypt has won in the Tokyo Paralympics to six: four silver and two bronze, all in weightlifting competitions.
The Egyptian delegation is participating in the Tokyo Paralympics with 49 male and female players, representing eight different games: weightlifting, swimming, table tennis, athletics, badminton, sitting volleyball, para Taekwondo, and goalball for women.
Egypt this year participated in eight games during the Summer Paralympics for the first time.
