The Port Said Criminal Court decided on Saturday to postpone the verdict against 73 suspects, in the lawsuit known as the ‘Port Said stadium massacre’, to June 9 and issued a gag order until then.
The court earlier referred documents for 11 suspects to the mufti to ratify their death sentences and set May 30 as the date to hand sentences over to the rest of the suspects.
The suspects were accused of premeditated murder, the attempted murder of Ahly Club fans, as well as possession of lethal weapons, explosives and other tools to attack people in the Port Said stadium.
The incident dates back to February 2012.
