Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of St. Mark Diocese thanked President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi for his visit to the Nativity of Christ Cathedral in the New Administrative Capital to offer his greetings on Christmas.
In his homily for the celebration at the cathedral, the Pope described Sisi as a “source of reassurance” for all Egyptians in all the crises facing the country.
Pope Tawadros congratulated the Egyptian state on COP 27 success, hoping that the global order would be able to handle the climate issues.
The pontiff thanked Sisi for preserving the beautiful tradition of visiting the Nativity of Christ Cathedral in the New Administrative Capital to offer his greetings on Christmas.
We pray for keeping the President healthy and safe and to protect Egypt, he added.
Pope Tawadros II also thanked former interim president Adly Mansour for his phone call to offer his greetings on Christmas and lauded state officials who extended greetings at the papal seat, including Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli, House Speaker Hanafi Gebali, President of the Senate Abdel Wahab Abdel Razeq, Al Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed El Tayeb, Grand Mufti Shawqi Allam, as well as ministers, governors, statesmen and ambassadors.
