Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of Saint Mark Tawadros II offered his congratulations to Muslims on the occasion of Eid al-Adha in August 21st, and to Copts on the occasion of the Queenship of Mary Day in August 22nd.
“I congratulate you on the Day of Queenship of Mary following two days of fasting,” the Pope said at the outset of his weekly sermon in St. Mark’s Coptic Orthodox Cathedral.
He continued, “We congratulate our Egyptian brothers with Eid al-Adha. We congratulate all officials and people with this day and all of its remembrance.”
Pope Tawadros II added, “We also rejoice in the Day of our mother Mary as the last day of the  Coptic year. The ecclesiastical year will end in a few days, and the New Coptic year will commence in September.”
