Pope Tawadros II greets president Sisi on Eidul Fitr

CAIRO, March 27 (MENA) – Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark on Thursday sent a cable of greeting to President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi on the occasion of Eidul Fitr (Lesser Bairam).

In his cable, the pope extended Eid greeting to the president and Muslims on behalf of the Egyptian Coptic Orthodox Church, praying to god to grant the president health and strength and help in facing challenges facing the nation.

The pope expressed hope that the nation would be blessed by peace and prosperity.

Eidul Fitr is a religious feast celebrated by Muslims worldwide after the end of the fasting month of Ramadan.
