Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria arrived in the United States on Wednesday to begin a a three-week visit.
Pope Tawadros met Thursday with nuns and students of the convent of St. Mary and St. Demiana in Atlanta following a mass. Tawadros performed the Midnight Praise at the same convent.
The first week of the visit will be spent with the Coptic Orthodox Diocese in the southern United States, where Pope Tawadros will visit parishes and monasteries in Florida, Texas and Atlanta before traveling to meet other diocese in the Untied States.
