Coptic Pope Shenouda III will return to Egypt Monday following a three-week trip to the US for medical exams.
The pope follows developments in Egypt and is calling on Egyptians to disregard rumors, especially at this critical stage, Coptic Bishop Sergius Sergius told Al-Masry Al-Youm.
Sergius dismissed news reports that claimed Shenouda's US retreat was a gesture of protest. He said the pope is in good condition and will finish his medical tests in Ohio before returning to Egypt.
