Polls to stay open until all voters have voted

Polling stations will remain open until all voters are able to cast their votes, the Supreme Judicial Committee supervising the referndum said in response to high turnout Saturday.

Millions of Egyptians headed to polling stations Saturday morning to cast their votes on constitutional amendments in the first referendum following the ouster of President Hosni Mubarak.

The committee also said a private plane transported judges to Naga Hammadi after other judges failed to show up.

Several judges from Sohag headed to Naga Hammadi to help supervise the voting process. Voting will be extended until all citizens who wish to cast ballots have done so.
