Political movements call for demo to save the revolution

Eight political movements have called on people to participate in a demonstration on Friday under the slogan “Save the 25 January Revolution”.

The National Association for Change (NAC), in a statement on Wednesday, said the demonstration is against sluggishness in bringing to justice the “murderers” of demonstrators killed in the revolution.

It also calls for retrieving the money that was stolen during the time of the former regime, dissolving the former ruling National Democratic Party (NDP) and the local councils, and dismissing all governors.

The NAC also requested a timetable from the government to respond to the “just” demands of the labor protests.

The Free Peaceful Change Front, for its part, will hold a popular trial in Tahrir Square on Friday for ousted President Hosni Mubarak, his son Gamal, the former NDP Secretary General Safwat al-Sherif, and Zakaria Azmy, the chief of presidential staff.
