North Qalyubia prosecution referred three police agents and an employee of Khanka hospital to Khanka Misdemeanor Court over charges of abusing the body of a victim at the hospital’s morgue.
The victim, who had a criminal record, was killed during a confrontation with police who were trying to arrest him.
Khanka prosecution had earlier ordered remanding the suspects into custody pending investigations and submitted the video, which includes evidence against them, to a technical committee at the Egyptian Radio and TV Union to check it.
Interior Minister Mohamed Ibrahim had ordered the suspension of the three suspects for three months and referred them to a disciplinary board upon the court's decision, according to Qalyubia Security Chief Mahmoud Yousry.
A video showing the three suspects taking photos with the victim has gone viral on social media platforms, which prompted the ministry to investigate the issue.
