Policeman’s house exploded in Arish, gunmen open fire against security ambush

A policeman’s house located in the Obour district of Arish city, North Sinai, was the target of an explosion on Saturday. The perpetrators are unknown and no casualties were reported.
 
North Sinai Security Chief Major General Ali al-Azazi was notified about the blast. Troops from both the explosives department and civil protection headed to the scene where the area was cordonned off.
 
Troops are combing the area fearing other bombs.
 
A similar incident occurred a few days ago when a policeman’s house was set on fire.
 
In related news, unknown gunmen opened fire on a security ambush in Sheikh Zuweid, North Sinai, on Friday before running away. No casualties were reported.
 
Security sources said the gunmen fired several shots on the security ambush, located on the “Arish-Sheikh Zuweid-Rafah” international road. Security troops exchanged fire with the gunmen until the latter retreated.
