A policeman affiliated with the Abshoway Police Station was injured after exchanging fire with unknown assailants who attacked the station's security force.
The victim, 58-year-old Ahmed Mohamed, was injured in the leg and arm and was taken to Fayoum General Hospital.
A claim was filed on the incident and the prosecution can taken over the investigation.
