A police sergeant was killed on Saturday, after he stopped a car to check its license on Shubra street, according to the Interior Ministry’s information center.
Authorities say the police sergeant, Mohamed Ahmed al-Seheimy of Cairo traffic department, was hit by a 25-year-old driver while he was trying to escape, causing severe wounds that led to his death.
The driver is now in police custody.
