Police officer, soldier injured in Arish IED blast

A police officer and a soldier were injured after an IED explosion hit their armored vehicle on the Arish-Qantara Sharq Road on Thursday.
 
Security sources and eyewitnesses said unidentified armed men planted an IED on the international road, 17 km west Arish.
 
The explosion injured first lieutenant Abdel Salam Farouq, 34, with shrapnel injuring different parts of his body, and soldier Ibrahim Mohamed Salem, 20, was also injured by shrapnel.
 
They were transferred to the military hospital of Arish, and the concerned authorities were notified for investigation.
