Security authorities managed to release kidnapped police officer in Sharqiya within a few hours after his abduction.
The abducted officer suffered minor injuries.
Major General Sameh al-Kilany, head of the Sharqiya Security Directorate, received communication saying that the police found the car belonging to Captain Mohamed Haroun of the al-Asher men Ramadan Police Station on the Asher-Belbais highway.
Traces of five shots that hit the car were found.
Many checkpoints were set on roads and security forces combed the mountainous area surrounding the cities of Belbis and Asher men Ramadan.
When the abductors felt the pressure of the search, they released Haroun, leaving him on the Asher-Belbais highway.
Detectives intensified efforts to identify the perpetrators, and the prosecution was notified for investigation.
