Police officer killed, 4 CSF recruits injured in Sinai IED blast

A police officer was killed and four CSF recruits were injured on Wednesday in an IED blast in Sheikh Zuweid city, North Sinai.
 
Unidentified assailants planted an IED in the path of a security force vehicle in the area of Mahdeya, south Sheikh Zuweid, eyewitness told Al-Masry Al-Youm.
 
The bomb exploded as a police vehicle passed by, the eyewitnesses added. The officer and CSF recruits were involved in efforts to crackdown on crime in the city.
 

The body of the deceased officer was transferred to Arish Military Hospital along with the four recruits, who were injured by shrapnel.

Prosecutors have been notified in order for investigations to be carried out.
